Temperature

When we say a substance is "hot or cold", we are talking about an objects temperature. We can sense how hot or cold an something is by our sense of touch. But this can only give us a rough idea of an object's temperature. How do we take accurate measurements of temperature?
definition: Temperature is a measure of how hot or cold something is.
Different scales can be used in the measurement of temperature. The S.I. unit for temperature is the Kelvin (K). For practical reasons, most thermometers measure temperature on the Celsius scale.
